An extraordinary blend of functional design and sculptural artistry, this Lucite and nickel rocking chair was designed and manufactured in the United States by renowned designer Charles Hollis Jones. Featuring a dramatically curved Lucite seat suspended within a polished nickel rocking frame, the chair showcases Jones' signature mastery of transparent acrylic paired with sleek metal construction. The result is a striking optical effect that gives the piece an almost weightless appearance while emphasizing its bold geometric form. Originally conceived for President Barack Obama, the presidential version of this design featured the Presidential Seal incorporated into the backrest. This example retains the same iconic silhouette and innovative engineering without the custom seal, making it a rare and highly collectible representation of Jones' later work. Equally at home as a functional chair or a statement sculpture, it exemplifies the designer's enduring influence on American modern furniture and will serve as a standout centerpiece in any contemporary or collector-focused interior. The chair is in good condition and the measurements are as follows, 31.5 inches in height, 25 inches in width, 36 inches in depth, 17 inches in seat height, 22 inches in seat width, 15.75 inches in seat depth and an armrest height of 23.75 inches.
